GROWN FOLKS MUSIC
JAN 02 2011 BY: BAYBROTHA AKIL

If you remember watching your parents when they were listening to they favorite song, you watched as the music captured them an put them into the "That's My Song" groove. Noel Gourdin's Music is That Feeling. Music for Gown Folks! I really like the song "Puppet" as it represents any man in love who knows how to keep that love strong.

The production is stellar.. Kudos to the musicians or producers responsible for this album. Noel Gourdin's vocals strong and smooth, reminisant of a Al Green. Include the songwriting and topics, you have a great album for grown folks. For more information about Noel Grourdin, visit his website at.

GOAPELE

Review of "Break of Dawn"
Nov 17, 2011 - Interview By: BayBrotha Akil

Play the Interview

The CD is on the shelf and is another smooth, soulful, and sexy representation of the artist. Goapele's new album is true to her style with songs about life and love.

The title track "Break of Down" has Goapele's classic smooth vocals and majestic harmonies while keeping your head rockin to the "Hip Hop/Soul/R&B/Electro" feeling tracks. Also one of my favorites, "Milk & Honey", this track locks you in from the beginning with the thick leads, bangin kick & clap, sick bass line, and sweet vocals. Props to Bay Area Producer "Bed Rock" for his hott production on this track. GOAPELE has a uniqueness to her voice that is truly her own. GOAPELE Website

TWIN SPRIT

Review of "Get Myself Together"
Nov. 17, 2011 - By: Hassan Brown

"From the “Stevie-ness” of the opening guitar and clavinet groove to the all girl vocal hook of the chorus to the badder than bad sax riffs to Twin Spirit’s chocolaty smooth verses to the awesome accepella at the end, we haven’t heard anything so deliciously groovy since Cheryl Lynn made it real back in ’79."
